I must stress I do no advertising \u2013 apparently Mother Care don\u2019t agree with my view that toddlers are tiny terrorists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You may think that I have shares in Temu as I often mention them \u2013 and I probably do have some investment in them with the amount of money I spend \u2013 but all of these items come just highly recommended from a genuine toddler Mum trying to keep my offspring alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I don\u2019t ever spend a lot of money on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/?page_id=1180\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">toys<\/a>&nbsp;or gadgets as toddlers are forever changing so no matter how good an item is, remember it is not going to have much longevity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Holy Grail<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One our daughter\u2019s first ever trips abroad, at 6 months old, I was shopping for last minute bits and found this. AKA. It is your new best friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I bought it and&nbsp;<em>naively&nbsp;<\/em>very nearly left it at home to save space! Thank goodness I didn\u2019t. Every single day, we took it down to the pool, filled it with water and some water toys and our daughter spent&nbsp;<em>hours&nbsp;<\/em>in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This may not seem groundbreaking but it meant: We could sit on our sunbeds whilst our daughter was happily playing; she was safe from the sun; every other parent looked at us like dons, like we had discovered the holy grail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"484\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20220507_105420-1-1024x484.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20220507_105420-1-1024x484.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20220507_105420-1-300x142.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20220507_105420-1-768x363.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20220507_105420-1-1536x727.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20220507_105420-1-2048x969.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I often say that toddlers are forever changing and some tips and tricks are usually only relevant for a certain stage of childhood. This is one staple item that we still bring on holiday now our children are two and four.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We don\u2019t often take it down to the pool anymore, though we could. But it stays on our terrace or balcony for when we want to chill at the accommodation and our two will play in it for hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also good for beach days when children want to play in the water safely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some of their favourite things to play in the The Holy Grail include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pouring with paper cups<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Putting they little characters down a \u2018slide\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hook a duck<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill it with bubbles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fishing net<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As well as all this fun, it can also double as an inflatable bath for smaller children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, just tell me \u2018What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow\u2019 and I will tell you where I got it from.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&#8216;Here comes the sun&#8217;<\/h2>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Best sun protection for toddlers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now for the <em>actual <\/em>most important thing to consider for a sun holiday. Sun protection. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I cannot tell you the best sun cream for your baby or toddler as it really depends on the individual. Our daughter suffers from extreme eczema but all the allergy free ones reacted to her so it literally is a case of test them with it and see if they call Childline or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07892-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07892-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07892-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07892-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07892-1-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07892-1-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second problem with sun cream is application. We have probably tried every variation of sun cream application, bar a torture camp but these are our two go-tos:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/solarbuddies.co.uk\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/solarbuddies.co.uk\/\">Solar Buddies <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You put any sunscreen you like in this applicator and it has a sponge round the outside which rubs the sun cream in for you. I like it because I just hate the feel of sun cream constantly on my hands, plus I\u2019m sick of my palms never getting a suntan! My 4-year-old daughter can now apply this herself using this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I bought the cheap Temu version of this and it has leaked every time so it is probably worth investing in the proper one as I tend to buy a new one every trip which seems pointless but I weirdly feel like I\u2019m saving money because it is cheaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Aerosol sun cream<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We often buy the aerosol style spray sun cream. We find this the easiest way to apply sun cream but our kids do hate it. It comes out quite cold. But are you even protecting your children from skin cancer if they are not screaming?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">Do remember to try out the sun cream you intend to take on holiday before you go to make sure that your little one\u2019s skin doesn\u2019t have a reaction to it.<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Best sun shade for prams <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have tried many different sun shades for our prams over the years and by far our favourite is the <strong>Koo-di Pack it Sun and Sleep stroller cover.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:48% auto\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/s-l400-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1251 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/s-l400-1.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/s-l400-1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My beautician actually recommended it and, whilst she was waxing my chocolate starfish, offered to lend hers for our next holiday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I thought this is either a really good item or she feels sorry for the state of my vagina after two children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Either way, we loved it and ended up buying our own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It packs up so small and fits all prams, car seats or strollers. We even use it if the kids fall asleep on a chair in a restaurant or a sun bed around the pool.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The beauty of it is that the kids stay cool underneath. There are plenty on second hand sites but I think you could also find something with a similar concept rather than canopy style or a stuffy muslin cloth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Best fans for toddlers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remember that really hot summer where <em>every <\/em>shop ran out of fans? I think that was us buying and trying them all out for our toddlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are <em>a lot<\/em> of different types of fans to keep your little ones cool. We have tried them all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our favourite is a simple and cheap fan that clips to the <em>top <\/em>of the pram shade. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20240915_090519-1-1024x473.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1253\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20240915_090519-1-1024x473.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20240915_090519-1-300x139.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20240915_090519-1-768x355.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20240915_090519-1-1536x709.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.toddlertravels.com\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/20240915_090519-1-2048x946.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn\u2019t have to be expensive.
